Enabling the Intelligent Edge for Industrial

Extending Edge Computing to the Shop Floor

Available On Demand — Originally Broadcast November 15, 2021

Today’s manufacturing enterprise is driven by technology. Manufacturers leverage more raw data than ever before to improve their operations. The power of edge computing is that it enables the enterprise to collect, process and act on this information locally, rather than at a central mainframe.

The challenge is integrating the disparate technologies involved to drive operational outcomes (e.g., improving efficiency, reducing carbon footprint, etc.) and creating new business opportunities like Equipment-as-a-Service. Extending edge computing patterns to the shop floor helps manufacturers build and implement these solutions that address industrial requirements in a repeatable and scalable manner.

In this IndustryWeek-hosted webinar, we will explore opportunities to accelerate the OT/IT transformation based on:

  • The value of edge computing for advancing innovation in manufacturing
  • The benefits of an open-source approach to edge computing
  • What an edge computing infrastructure in manufacturing operations contains
